wet vs dry steam

Wet vs. Dry Steam

Steam produced by domestic and Gravity-Fed irons is considered “wet” steam—water enters the iron either through a built-in reservoir or a gravity feed, where the steam is generated using heat within the iron itself. For Industrial Steam Irons, steam is generated under high pressure in an external Mini-Boiler, Lowboy, or other steam system and then fed through to the iron. Steam generated in this manner is considered a “dry” steam because of the lower moisture content. It is much more powerful and concentrated, making it great for industrial uses.
